Churches
in Communities International (CiC) is a world-wide voluntary association of independent churches
and ministries that offers a system of mutual accountability and
accreditation. With a commitment to
compassion, integrity and co-operation in ministry, CiC exists to serve leaders in the Body of Christ as they in turn
serve the communities in which they minister.
CiC affairs are overseen by
the CiC council under the leadership
of Rev. Hugh
Osgood, Senior Minister at Cornerstone
Christian Centre. Membership
is renewable annually. CiC is a network member of the Free Churches
Group of Churches Together in England, as well as a member of the Evangelical
Alliance and the Afro Caribbean Evangelical Alliance.
In recent years, many that lead independent churches and
ministries in various parts of the world have expressed the need for advice and
accountability as they seek to function in their calling and ministry. This necessity is further amplified by
challenges of representing Christ authentically in a world that expects high
standards of morality and integrity from the Church.
Whilst it is common for independent ministers to seek an
endorsement of their ministry by 'submitting' to a senior leader, the CiC network offers in addition a
regional support structure and ethos of care, interaction and Christ-centred
activity amongst members.
By
becoming a CiC member, you will
benefit from the synergy generated when members make their combined wisdom,
experience and resources available to everyone else. Specific benefits include
access to
guidelines and resources concerning church structure and practice
spiritual
oversight, fellowship and support
peer group
support and encouragement
personal
contact from CiC leadership (at least twice annually)
occasional
relationship-building meetings
validation in
emergency
ministerial
accreditation (and ordination where appropriate)
